Hundreds of Bannow Residents Meet at the Crossroads - Jim Codd Leads from the Front.

Hey fellow Bannu's, take a look at the blog, which I knocked up a few moments ago. I've got to stop now as I have some work I must do, but wondered if members of the group would add their dhá phingin worth to make it all the more relevant.  A copy of the photo with Jim at the front would be good. We can include a call for a walk to Dublin to highlight the issue, even give the impression that the image from last night was the group starting out on the walk.  When the blog is ready we can send it to the local papers etc.

By the way, for those of the group who went to the wrong crossroad, take a look at the following link, which shows all of the townlands: https://www.townlands.ie/wexford/bargy/bannow/bannow/vernegly/

Bannow Residents Turn Back the Clock to Meet at the Crossroads

A meeting was held at Vernegly Corssroads at 7pm las night to discuss a plan of action.

Jim Codd explained that the local council had no money to repair the roads because the government in Dublin needed the cash to fund the fabulous pensions dished out to the minister's of the unholy alliance.

Bannow Campaign to resurface the roads.  (Thoughts thrown down on Google Docs)1 1. Can we employ a firm of solicitors on a no-win-no-fee basis to sue the council - or at least write to the council threatening to sue.

(do we have a resident solicitor who is willing to help)

2. Write an article for local newspapers - photo of the group with Jim Codd at the front,

headline Group Walking to Dublin but all ended up in hospital after suffering broken

ankles on the way to Andrews Bridge.

3. Start a Blog.

4.Talk about the danger for young folk unable to cycle due to the state of the roads,

especially the road to Andrews Bridge.

5. Also, the danger for old folk. Many of the natives and blow-ins are older and suffer agonies

riding in cars on our roads. Has the council set out purposefully to torture its oldest residents?

6. What about the heritage signs down at Andrews Bridge encouraging tourists to drive / cycle /

walk to cockle strand.

7.etc waiting for input.
